Our 2026 Guide
Hello lovely Edinburgh Fringe people,We are back for a fifth year with Neurodiverse Review, covering as many disabled and neurodiverse-led shows as possible, whether it be through our reviews, features, awards or other shenanigans.
We are an entirely volunteer-run platform, starting in 2022 with just a facebook page and some keen folk.
We’ve been so lucky to be supported by The Edinburgh Fringe, Deaf Action and Birds of Paradise Theatre Company. In 2024 we had support from Just the Tonic.
But as we grow, we’re trying to find ways to make our platform sustainable, so this year our guide (which usually contained every nd/disabled-led show), now has a selection of acts that donated to be featured. We hope we can grow this in future years.

In this show, she unpacks the elaborate (and often ridiculous) lengths she’s gone to in pursuit of clarity. Expect an abundance of misunderstandings, a rap about questionable life choices, and a whirlwind of overcomplication that somehow lands right here.

Lola is determined to figure it out, whatever “it” is. Join Lola on her journey from 70’s Los Angeles to 90’s London and beyond as she faces her past and learns what it means to be neurodivergent. Sesame Street meets The Exorcist in this solo character comedy with original music, songs and puppets about learning to love your weird.

Kitchen sink drama meets post-apocalyptic horror, The Hunger is about morality and motherhood at the end of the world.

“Make the title self-explanatory”, they said. Yeah. You can’t say that to an autistic person and expect them not to hemorrhage. The show is funny songs and stories about office friendships, overrated lyrics, the shadowy underworld of karaoke and musical comedy itself in a choreographed maelstrom of neurodiversity. It’s self-explanatory but with nothing left to the imagination, it’s useless as a selling point. There; title explained. Well… sort of. Just see it, mun. You could win a crème egg.

Led by Channel 4’s narrowboat drag king Mr Brake Down – local divas, naughty newbies and established icons meet on a joyful variety stage, celebrating LGBTQIA+ talent of all types. Join the fun nightly for a lively showcase from the worlds of drag, burlesque, comedy, music, circus and whatever else comes our way. Pop, Pomp Poetry… Probably is a multidisciplinary melting pot of weird and wonderful. Blending poetry, physical theatre and the synthy pontificating and ramblings of a truly odd human, Zuper Rookie. It’s “One of the most wonderfully bizarre acts – Modest and mad in equal measure”. And yes, it’s free + in a pizza place, low risk – high reward, ART!
