Childlike

Childlike

★★

“I mean just look at me!”

Caitlin Jones takes to the stage in Childlike described as a ‘tell-all nostalgia trip’ about their life and whether it’s essential to grow up.

The set is disjointed and seems to hold no narrative despite being marketed as a ‘character comedy’. Jones appears nervous onstage but presses on to tell us of three choking incidents in primary school and about the trials and tribulations of first love and relationship. It’s only when Jones relaxes that the flow of the show begins. Their section about working with exes is particularly funny.

Cut short due to a lack of audience, it’s hard to make a complete judgement on what the full set would have been, but I hope Jones continues to work and develop the act.

Childlike is on at The Space – Surgeon’s Hall till the 26th August
