Simmonds has made a Fringe comeback. Although, this time, he has taken up a new challenge – to perform standing up for a full hour, in contrast to his usual ‘Sit Down’ comedy style, which anyone with cerebral palsy will know is torture.
During his performance, he shares brilliant anecdotes ranging from his brother’s wedding to comedy festivals, sports competitions, and even freak Segway accidents with the audience. The stories are incredible and captivating, although, at times, the delivery was disjointed.
Aaron’s comedy gives insight into disabled life; however, it was clear that this challenged some of the able-bodied audience, but to disabled audience members, it was a relatable and hilarious outlook.
He did a fantastic job for his first ‘stand up with him standing’, and it was amazing to see him performing at the fringe again.

Aaron Simmonds: Baby Steps is on at Pleasance Courtyard – Bunker Two till August 28th.
