The irrepressible and delightful Aunty Ginger is on a mission to find her Splashman, but lucky for us, she took a few minutes respite to answer our questions.
Why did you make this show?
I’m keen to become known as a serious performer, and Graduate from the cabaret circuit into theatres.
What is the part of the show you’re most proud of?
As I have dyspraxia writing a whole hour of comedy and coordinating around all the sound and light cues was a huge challenge to overcome, I’m really happy with what I’ve been able to change.
As a disabled practitioner, what do you want to see change at The Edinburgh Fringe?
There’s a lot of admin with applying for the Fringe and not enough guidance, understanding artwork requirements particularly is hard if you’re not a graphic designer, some help for the neurodivergent would be great here.
Why should we come and see the show?
It’s a very funny although adult drag show…and what I’ve been able to achieve with sound, light and sketches and songs is I think impressive for someone with a dyspraxia, but come see if you agree.
Aunty Ginger: Finding Splashman is on at Assembly George Square from August 2nd
